Cold Spring Presbyterian Church and Cemetery
Founded in 1714 with its current red-brick church built in 1823, Cold Spring Presbyterian sits beside one of South Jersey's oldest burial grounds. The cemetery holds graves dating to 1742, the most Mayflower descendants buried anywhere outside Massachusetts, and a marker for residents who died in the 1832 cholera epidemic and were buried secretly at night in unmarked graves. It is also the resting place of Dr. Emlen Physick and his family. The site features in Cape May MAC's "Graveyard, Ghosts & Mansion" tour, which begins with a trolley ride to the cemetery, where guides share electronic voice phenomena (EVPs) they say were recorded at the connected Physick Estate. The combination of mass cholera burials, centuries-old graves, and the MAC paranormal tour has made the churchyard a fixture of Cape May's ghost lore.
