Kehoe House
The Kehoe House is a grand Queen Anne mansion at 123 Habersham Street on Columbia Square, built in 1892 for Irish immigrant and iron foundry owner William Kehoe, who raised ten children within its ornate brick walls. Its terracotta detailing and wrought ironwork mark it as a showpiece of Savannah's Victorian era, and for much of the twentieth century the building served as a funeral home before its restoration into a bed and breakfast inn.
Legend holds that two of the Kehoe children died here, and guests in certain rooms wake to the unsettling feeling of small hands stroking their faces in the dark. Staff describe children's laughter echoing down empty halls and doors that drift open on their own, and the house remains a recurring stop on Savannah's after-dark ghost tours.
