Tybee Island Lighthouse
Standing since the 1700s and rebuilt more than once, the Tybee Island Light has guided ships into the Savannah River for centuries. Keepers lived and died in its shadow, and at least one is said to remain. Visitors climbing the 178 iron steps report footsteps above and below them, doors that close on their own, and a figure watching from the gallery at the very top.
