Calhoun Square
Calhoun Square is the only one of Savannah's squares still ringed entirely by its original buildings, and, many believe, the only one built over a forgotten burial ground of the enslaved. The schoolhouse on its edge was once used to store the dead. Residents report children's voices, phantom footsteps, and objects that move on their own in the homes that surround it. The city officially renamed it Taylor Square in 2023, though locals and ghost tours still call it Calhoun Square.
