Colonial Park Cemetery
Savannah's oldest surviving cemetery holds more than ten thousand souls, many of them lost to the yellow-fever epidemics that swept the city. Union soldiers later camped among the graves and, it is said, defaced and rearranged the headstones for sport. Visitors today photograph drifting orbs, report sudden cold spots, and sometimes catch a lone figure standing among the stones at dusk.
