Riondo's Ristorante

Now an Italian restaurant in Galveston's historic Strand District, Riondo's fills a building that once stood as a private home, and according to local lore documented by Community Impact and ABC13 it still carries the weight of the catastrophic 1900 Storm. A nurse working in the house is said to have pulled people from the floodwaters in through a window, then separated the survivors from the sick and the dead; her contact with the sick is believed to have caused her own death, and she is thought to haunt the building still.

A paranormal investigation here reportedly captured dozens of EVP voices identifying themselves as victims of the "great storm," and a chest of drawers and a piano are said to move on their own.
