The Omni Grove Park Inn
The Pink Lady is Asheville's most famous ghost, reported at this 1913 stone resort for nearly a century. Legend holds that in the 1920s a young woman in a pink ballgown fell from an upper floor to the Palm Court below and died; because she was a guest of a guest, her name was never registered. Staff and visitors describe her as a dense pinkish smoke or mist that occasionally takes the shape of a woman. She is said to move objects overnight, tickle sleeping guests' feet, flicker lights, and show particular fondness for children. Reports cluster around Room 545, where she allegedly stayed. No historical record confirms the specific death, but the lore is so embedded the inn shares the Pink Lady's story with guests, offers ghost-themed programming, and has hosted paranormal investigators looking into the accounts. WLOS and Historic Hotels of America both document the century of sightings.
