Inn · Jerome, AZ

Ghost City Inn Bed & Breakfast

Built around 1890 as a boarding house for middle mine management during Jerome's copper boom, this Main Street building has served over the decades as a private home for the Garcia family for over 50 years, then a restaurant, a spiritual retreat, a funeral home, and an art gallery before becoming a bed and breakfast in 1994. Guests and innkeepers report a friendly female spirit most often encountered in the Cleopatra Hill room, and a male presence seen in the hallway outside the Verde View room. Other reported phenomena include doors slamming shut on their own, disembodied voices heard when the building is empty, and a ghost cat said to leave indentations on the beds. The inn's name comes from Jerome's nickname as a "Ghost City" mining town that nearly emptied out, though the building's long, layered history is often cited as the root of the activity.
