Lizzie Borden House

On August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were killed with a hatchet in this Greek Revival home; Andrew's daughter Lizzie was tried and acquitted, leaving the case unsolved. Now owned by US Ghost Adventures and run as a bed-and-breakfast and museum, it is routinely called America's most haunted house. Overnight guests and investigators report a woman resembling Abby seen in the second-floor hallway and a guest room, soft weeping at night, footsteps in empty halls, doors that unlatch and swing open, and cold spots. The attic and Abby's death room are described as the most active areas, with children's laughter reported upstairs. Investigators have logged EVPs and reported responses to the name 'Lizbeth.' The property runs daily house tours, ghost tours, and overnight ghost hunts, and has been featured by paranormal television, cementing its standing as Fall River's most famous haunted address.
