Quequechan Club

Housed in an Italianate mansion built in 1861 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, the Quequechan Club was founded in the late 19th century as a private gentlemen's social club for Fall River's mill-era elite, later serving as a restaurant and banquet hall. The building's long history has earned it a documented haunted reputation. Members, staff, and visitors report the apparition of a woman in Victorian-era dress, most often seen near the bar and lounge areas of the old home. Investigators have recorded electronic voice phenomena and photographed unexplained orbs of light inside the building, and others describe disembodied voices, footsteps, and unexplained tapping. The lingering Victorian lady is regarded as the building's primary resident spirit, fitting for a mansion that has watched over North Main Street for more than a century and a half.
