Mercer-Williams House
Built for the family of songwriter Johnny Mercer, this mansion became famous as the setting of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." It was here that antiques dealer Jim Williams shot his young assistant Danny Hansford in 1981, setting off a saga of four murder trials. Visitors and staff still report a restless presence on the stairs and a feeling of being watched in the study where Hansford died.
